I have a similar issue. Lately I've been getting home at no earlier than 10 o'clock, and I find my hunger gets to the point where it actually wakes me up in the middle of the night.. although i find it even harder to try and fall asleep when my tummy is growling.

I try and just have some water to make me feel full, but it hasn't seemed to work. I know late night eating is really bad for disrupting sleep (as well as weight gain), and I feel like sometimes its a mental thing.. if my body knows I haven't eaten, it seems to focus more on my hunger.

What I am going to actively try and do this week (i have a massive bag of fruits and nuts sitting next to me on my desk) is try and eat a lot more throughout the day so when I get home I'm not STARVING to the point where I feel I need a big meal at night. Hope it works.

I would suggest taking a snack to school with you- something light like some veggies or an apple with some almond butter. On the nights you work at the restaurant, if you really must eat- than again, something light. Some soup, apple sauce with some ground flax. Heavy meals and lots of protein will most certainly disrupt your sleep. Remember that all you are going to do is sleep, your body doesn't use up much energy sleeping. Just be sure ot have a big healthy high protein breakfast when you wake up.

All of that, I know, is easier said than done.

I don't know if it's just me or not, but I always sleep better on an empty stomach.
